First Part of the Intake Portion - Basic Information
The Spongey tool is designed to help persons with convictions under Missouri law determine whether they may be eligible to file an expungement petition under Section 610.140, RSMo, in the state of Missouri. This tool is intended to be used by expungement seekers under the supervision of , which is licensed to use the tool by The Curators of the University of Missouri.
The first part of the tool is an intake portion and consists of two parts. The first part is directed to obtaining some basic information relevant to your request for assistance with expungement services. This part of the tool will guide you through a series of questions to collect basic information needed to initially assessĀ eligibility for expungement. You must complete this part of the tool as completely and accurately as possible in order for a proper initial assessment of your request for expungement to be made.
Once you complete the first part of the intake portion of the tool and if your answers indicate possible eligibility for expungement, you will be presented with the second part of the intake portion.
Note that the information you input will be securely sent to. An attorney with will review your responses and follow up with you if additional information is needed to more fully evaluate your request and determine if expungement is possible. If determines that it can assist with your request, then it will discuss with you the preparation of documents needed for your expungement request.

- You may still be responsible for court filing fees (typically $115 plus a $75 service fee). If you cannot afford these fees, may assist you in requesting a fee waiver.
- After filing, it may take up to several months for a judge to make a decision on your petition.
